Merleen Reed spent her early childhood years in Texas, where her family always had a lake cabin. Her love of the lake began at an early age. She moved to Tulsa, and this is where her Grand Lake story began. She bought her first weekend home at Grand and began to make memories with her children. After a change in her personal life, she decided to make the Grand Lake Area her permanent home. She operated a bookkeeping service in Ketchum before opening up her own real estate company in 1995. “I had an interest in real estate for many years and was finally able to follow this career after raising my family,” stated Merleen.One of the things that Merleen likes most about Grand Lake is the diversified people and personalities who have chosen to make Grand Lake their home. She originally fell in love with the area because of her love of boating and fishing. “It has been wonderful to watch this area evolve from a Memorial Day to Labor Day Community to a year round lifestyle,” stated Merleen.

In the fall of 2007, Merleen and Tiffany decided to merge Holiday Realty with McKibben & Co. Realty. Merleen said “I have known Tiffany for several years and admired her enthusiasm and ethics. And I knew that by merging with her company we would be able to offer our customers even better service.”

Merleen’s experience has become a huge asset to McKibben & Co. Realty. “Merleen brings over 20 years of real estate knowledge to the table, which has been priceless for myself, as well as the other agents”, said Tiffany McKibben.

What does the future hold for Grand Lake? Merleen would like to see this area grow into a healthy economy that would provide the best schools, jobs, medical facilities, etc. which would “keep our young people here in this area after graduation” stated Merleen.
